Department of social development of the Tyumen region (Cisco TelePresence)

Cisco in cooperation with IT service provider by ARSPlus company unrolled the video network for joint work which connected divisions of department of social development of the Tyumen region in 25 areas of Western Siberia. Technologies of telepresence from the Tandberg company which recently was a part of Cisco are the basis for this network. For the short period from the moment of implementation of video technologies for joint work (it happened in November, 2009) the department managed to cut down transportation and traveling expenses, to accelerate management processes and using new training video programs to raise the professional training level of the employees. Besides, as Alla Vyacheslavovna Tolkacheva, the head of department of family policy of department of social development of the Tyumen region noticed, "implementation of technology of a video conferencing allowed to increase availability of receiving by minors and their parents of consultations of professional specialists of all levels on legal, psychology and pedagogical and other issues, to quickly solve problems of the child and his family, and gave to specialists of the different industries of the social sphere the chance to quickly share experience using new technologies".

The server of video communications Tandberg Video Communication Server combining advantages of technologies of a video conferencing and telepresence with other communication functions, such as unified communications and IP telephony is the cornerstone of the video solution for joint work. In department of social development of the Tyumen region also high-performance system of an IP video conferencing of Tandberg Codian IP VCR 2210 with functions of record, reproduction and stream transfer and a high-end server of Tandberg Codian MCU 4210 for support of multimedia IP video conferences and providing the high-quality video and audio communication which is easily set using the simple and flexible interface is installed.

The management system of Tandberg Management Suite (TMS) allowed department easily and just to centralize control of local and remote video systems. TMS provides deployment and work planning of all video network, including the systems of telepresence, monitoring and control from uniform command center.

On personal computers the software of Tandberg Movi which helped to provide to department the simple and economic video solution allowing employees to keep in virtual contact with colleagues is set. Using the PC or Mac and video cameras connected to USB ports, thousands of users in any organization which implemented video technologies can set at any time video connections from public access points or remote offices.

These systems, in particular, will be installed in the department and in the regional center "Semya".
