2021: Announcement of a perimeter security system with combat robots

At the end of September 2021, NPO Elektromashina (part of the Uralvagonzavod concern of Rostec state corporation) announced the creation of Russia's first perimeter security system equipped with combat robot modules. The development was called Promete. It is designed to protect the perimeter of specially protected facilities of various law enforcement agencies and specialized enterprises.

According to TASS, citing Igor Afanasyev, general director of NPO Electromashina, Promete includes remotely controlled combat modules with a heavy machine gun. The perimeter security system simultaneously manages up to 16 combat modules that detect, alert and, if necessary, protect the protected object. In any convenient place there is an operator who controls all 16 systems from the console, switching to the priority combat module.

In Russia, they created the first perimeter security system with combat robots called Promete

The modules are equipped with loudspeakers that give clear commands to the intruder. They can be said by the operator himself or the machine.

Igor Afanasyev noted that the NPO Elektromashina developed the Promete system completely independently, including software and combat modules.

The competence of the enterprise is such that they allow us to develop and produce the entire system. Our specialization is drives, control systems, software - something we are currently strong and competent in. Therefore, all robotic objects that are being produced for the Russian army at the moment are equipped with Electromachine products, he said.

Also, Elektromashina began mass production of the Okhotnik combat module, equipped with a teleteprovision surveillance system, built-in malfunction diagnostics, a cartridge indicator counter, a gyroscopic system for stabilizing the sight and the weapon itself, as well as a laser rangefinder.[1]
