2021: Start of Data Center

The Russian developer and the producer of integrated chips and radio electronics of JSC PKK Milandr started own data-processing center (DPC). It is designed in accordance with the requirements of the Tier III certificate, its power is 350 kW. This was announced on September 29, 2021 by the Industrial Development Fund (FRF).

The PKK Milander project on digitalization of production involves investments in the amount of 627 million rubles, of which 500 million rubles were raised in the form of a preferential loan from the Industrial Development Fund under the Digitalization of Industry program. The interest rate on the loan was 1% per annum, as the Russian system integrator was the key performer.

Investments in the creation of a data center and the acquisition of computing equipment exceeded 280 million rubles. The total area of ​ ​ the data center is 240 square meters, in the equipment room there are 30 server racks. The power allocated for computing equipment is 350 kW. The data center is located in the building of the Research Institute of Physical Problems in Zelenograd. At the created facilities, PKK Milander has placed information systems for designing and managing production processes, while the possibility of leasing part of the resources to other enterprises is laid.

Previously, before the launch of the data center, the computing equipment of Milandra was located in several disparate server rooms. This prevented the ability to quickly change the IT infrastructure of the enterprise to the requirements of the business, complicated management and created a problem of protecting information, including intellectual property. The creation of a single data center, thanks to the support of the FRP, helped solve these problems, "said Konstantin Kolesin, director of TsITiZI of PKK Milander JSC.

The data center is designed in accordance with the requirements of the Tier III data center reliability certificate from the Uptime Institute. This means ensuring that all maintenance systems are up and running at 99.982%. Thus, during the year, a simple data center can be no more than 1 hour and 36 minutes.

The creation of a sustainable and secure information and telecommunications infrastructure meets the objectives of the national project "Digital Economy of Russia." Russia's share of global data storage and processing services is expected to grow continuously and reach 5% by 2024.
