Fujitsu: ServerView Resource Orchestrator

In July, 2010 the Fujitsu corporation announced the administrative tool of ServerView Resource Orchestrator intended for creation and deployment of oblakopodobny IT platforms. This product enters the global cloud platform of Fujitsu provided in April, 2010.

The ServerView Resource Orchestrator application allows the organizations more quickly and to react flexibly to the changing internal requirements to IT support – thanks to automatic distribution of the available resources among the started business applications.

This multifunction managing software allows to select automatically to users the flexible IT resources ready to "cloud" applications, reducing time of their deployment for 90% in comparison with configuring manually.

Setup of a system is based on answers of the user to a number of simple questions of requirements to infrastructure then on the basis of the configured templates and previously set settings the corresponding access to physical or virtual resources, including connection to storage devices and network equipment is provided. Such functions eliminate need for a manual configuration of the equipment which is, as a rule, very difficult, borrows much working time and often is an origin of errors.

The ServerView Resource Orchestrator application first of all is intended for large enterprises which are going to increase flexibility of the available IT infrastructures and to have additional opportunities for cost reduction when translating business applications on oblakopodobny Wednesdays. At the same time it is optimal also for suppliers of public cloud services.

The ServerView Resource Orchestrator application provides interfaces for access and device management of storage, the network equipment and hypervisors developed by Fujitsu corporation and its technology partners (including NetApp, Cisco, Brocade, VMware and Microsoft). Integration with products of other suppliers is in a development stage.

The Fujitsu corporation announced in November, 2011 a release of the new version of Fujitsu ServerView Resource Orchestrator – the powerful and reliable solution for management of cloud infrastructures which simplifies creation, expansion and consolidation of private cloud infrastructures. The new version of Fujitsu ServerView Resource Orchestrator V3 offers enhanced capabilities on creation, expansion and consolidation of private clouds, providing the multi-user system platform of the enterprise level allowing to transform the existing static DPCs to dynamic infrastructures on providing resources. Thanks to the new technologies which proved in cloud DPCs of Fujitsu corporation, customers will be able easily to create the optimized private cloud infrastructure and, thereby, considerably reduce total cost of ownership an ICT resources.

Fujitsu ServerView Resource Orchestrator, being a new stage of development of the managing software (ServerView Resource Coordinator and Cloud Infrastructure Management Software), provides a full range of the scaled and integrated tools for management of private cloud infrastructure. The solution allows to manage all levels of cloud infrastructure (consolidation of servers, virtualization, standardization, hybrid or with a possibility of self-service a cloud) and provides the necessary level of automation for effective administration and cost reduction.

Taking into account continuously growing complexity of authorization of users of physical/virtual servers, storage systems and network topology, ServerView Resource Orchestrator provides idle time in use a self-service portal.

The self-service portal allows users to select and to individually customize own systems based on the set configurations. Solutions of Fujitsu corporation have the complex of functionality for information resource management allowing administrators to manage and finish any necessary services. The dashboard allows administrators and users to control quantity of the used resources, showing cost efficiency and the maximum productivity of the selected services.

Because consolidation of servers, virtualization and private clouds were widely adopted, additional requirements are imposed to management of DPC. No-touch deployment of multi-layer systems using the set templates

• No-touch deployment of the server systems, including physical and virtual servers, storage systems, network switches and firewalls, based on the set templates significantly reduces the number of transactions, reducing risk of emergence of the errors connected with a human factor.

The guaranteed security level of a private cloud

• Providing to users the selected resources and also giving to them the appropriate administrative rights, the software guarantees the raised security level in infrastructure of a private cloud.

Business continuity when using a disaster-proof configuration

• The system of disaster recovery delivered with ServerView Resource Orchestrator provides the continuity of work of the user systems, allowing to execute fast transition to the reserve platform in case of refusal of main system. The implementation cost of a system of disaster recovery is significantly reduced thanks to a possibility of dynamic resource management. At the same time need of exact compliance of system configuration is excluded.
