Altai state pedagogical academy

History

The university is formed in 1933 as teacher's institute.

The Altai state pedagogical academy passed a difficult way of formation. Her teachers greatly helped in creation and development of other universities of Barnaul, Altai. Today the university has five educational faculties and two institutes, faculty of advanced training and occupational retraining of educators, faculty of additional pedagogical professions, faculty of pre-university education, a postgraduate study, doctoral studies, dissertation councils. Now in ALTGPA about 8 thousand students (day, evening and correspondence departments) study, more than 500 teachers among whom 60% are candidates and doctors of science, associate professors and professors work.
