2021: Establishment of the National Biomedical Data Bank
In early October 2021, Data Matrix announced the creation of the National Biomedical Data Bank, to which Russian representatives of science and IT developers in medicine will have free access. This was reported to Zdrav.expert in the company.
It is expected that the National Biomedical Data Bank will receive information from several sources for subsequent use in the production of datasets and machine learning. This is one of the main tasks on the way to creating in Russia its own market of artificial intelligence for medicine, noted in Data Matrix. The project is being implemented jointly with the National Medical Knowledge Base (NBMZ).
A number of companies specializing in IT solutions and developments in the field of artificial intelligence are working on the initiative as part of the consortium.
Our goal is to create a separate cell dedicated to the research of routine clinical practice, while providing an opportunity for interested parties (pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, institutes) to participate in the process of market formation, - explained in Data Matrix. |
Data Matrix is engaged in routine clinical practice (RWE) research based on impersonal data from electronic medical records. Alexey Loleit, Director of Strategy and Development at Data Matrix, believes that the creation of a biomedical data bank together with the NBMZ association can provide the necessary impetus for the development of advanced Russian medicine.
Director General of the NBMZ Association Boris Zingerman, in turn, noted that Data Matrix is the market leader in RWD/RWE, and the company is able to take the lead in matters of technical, organizational and legal support of medical data circulation.
