2021: Dairy labeling automation

On October 4, 2021, Univita announced that it had automated the labeling of dairy products using Kontur.Labeling.

Univita is an importer of dairy products in Russia. Every day, the company ships more than 150 tons of various goods. From June 1, 2021, mandatory labeling of cheeses and ice cream was introduced. Until the end of 2021, the marking of all dairy products produced in the Russian Federation or imported into the country will be mandatory.

Marking a large volume of an item, generating reports, entering up to 300,000 codes into sales per transaction manually is too expensive and long. Therefore, Univita decided to automate this process using the service "Contour.Marking."

The service unloads information about the goods from the user's account system, processes it and sends it to the State Information System for Marking Goods (GIS MT). The company then receives the ready-made Data Matrix codes, which you can enter in sales. Thus, the automatic labeling process significantly reduces the use of human resources and saves on the purchase of additional software.

"We analyzed Univita's production and business processes. The main difficulty we faced was the company's cooperation with suppliers around the world. Each manufacturer had to individually agree on the application of marking and aggregation codes before crossing the border of the Russian Federation, as required by law. In working with suppliers there were their own characteristics, it was not possible to unify processes. Using the accumulated experience of launching markings in other product groups, the experts of Kontek were able to close the customer's need by proposing a comprehensive solution to the problem, "-

says Gulnara Burkhanova, manager of development projects "Contour.Markings."

Arvato also participated in the integration. It is an international integrator that creates customized supply chain management solutions in different market segments. Arvato has developed a tool for exchanging information with one of the company's foreign suppliers. By joint actions, the Kontur.Markings and Arvato teams managed to develop a replicable solution for importers of various products.

"We have been collaborating with Konture for a long time in electronic document management and electronic acceptance and transfer of orders from our customers. Given that in the future, information in the GIS MT will be transmitted using EDR, the choice of a dairy labeling partner was unambiguous. We're not wrong. In our company, the business processes associated with labeling are very diverse - there is also production according to subcontracting schemes, imports from different countries: members of the EAEU, Western Europe, Latin America. Despite the difficulties, all connectors created by Kontur.Markings specialists work and meet our requirements, "

notes Andrey Khromov, Director of Operations of Univita.

The implementation of the service "Contour.Marking" in Univita continues. Specialists of Kontur.Markings are waiting for integration with the GIS MT and the operator of the national system for marking goods of the Republic of Belarus RUP Belblankavyd Publishing House. This will automate the acceptance of labeled goods from the Republic of Belarus.
