2021: Launch contactless fingerprint scanning technology

In October 2021, Tech5 announced the launch of contactless fingerprint scanning technology. It was called T5-AirSnap Finger and became available on the Russian market, which previously had no such systems, the developers say.

Using a built-in camera, smartphone T5-AirSnap Finger detects, captures, processes, and packs fingerprint images for inspection or registration. The whole process takes a few seconds. Using the liveness check function ensures that the correct data is taken from a particular person in real time. The obtained high-quality images are suitable for use in automatic fingerprint identification systems (AFIS) and other solutions, the press release said.

T5-AirSnap Finger can be used for tasks such as electronic registration and verification for banks, and government identity verification programs, and all kinds of pass and access control systems, etc.

T5-AirSnap Finger is available as a separate mobile technology, as well as part of the T5-Digital ID, a digital identification platform using biometric data capture and verification on mobile devices. T5-AirSnap Finger can be used to capture a single fingerprint, as well as as self-scanning all fingerprints.

According to the developers, the technology does not require any special expensive equipment - a smartphone with a Tech5 application installed on it is enough.
