2021: Launch of a marketplace for farmers

In October 2021, a marketplace for farmers was launched in the Direct.Farm business social network of agriculture. First, seeds and plant protection products (PPDs) became available for ordering on the platform. In addition, in November it is planned to launch trade in agricultural products.

A representative of the service told Kommersant about the launch of a marketplace for farmers. According to him, 250 million rubles were invested in the project. It is planned to recoup investments through the subscription of suppliers that Direct.Farm will promote in the system. The size of the commission is not disclosed.

It is specified that it will be possible to purchase products through the marketplace with a deferred payment of up to nine months with an initial contribution of 20%. In this case, the service will compensate the supplier for the remaining 80%.

The publication notes that the main owner of Direct.Farm is Andrei Doluda, the son of the former vice-governor of the Krasnodar Territory Nikolai Doluda, the owner of the plant-growing company Miragro, which manages 7.5 thousand hectares of land.

According to Andrei Doluda, Direct.Farm wants to reach 15 billion rubles of the annual turnover of the NWR and 10 billion rubles - seeds. Until 2024, it is also planned to launch in Kazakhstan and Belarus.

Director of Sovekon Andrei Sizov in a conversation with the newspaper noted that among digital platforms in the agro-industrial complex there is already high competition, the cost of attracting and retaining a client is growing, but the value of such products for agricultural producers is not obvious. According to him, Direct.Farm's focus on the development of the farmer community may give an advantage over competitors, but it will not be easy to monetize it. In addition, Sizov believes that tighter regulation of the grain market threatens to reduce the incomes of farmers, compress the NWR market and fertilizers and further increase competition between their suppliers and various channels.[1]
