2021: Announcement of a stealth drone developing a speed of 1000 km/h
In early October 2021, the China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC) introduced a stealth drone that flies at a speed of 1000 km/h. The demonstration of the novelty took place at the Airshow China 2021 exhibition.
The development of the GJ-11 stealth drone with an open weapons compartment began in 2013. The device is equipped with one turbofan engine, and the wingspan reaches 14 m. The range of the GJ-11 is 4000 km, the maximum flight speed exceeds 1000 km/h. The presence of stealth technology in the drone allows it to remain unnoticed, the weapon compartment holds 4 ammunition, including precision bombs.
Drones can GJ-11 take off from landing ships, and when approaching the enemy, they force him to shoot at false targets. Despite the fact that the device is large, it does not have enough power to destroy enemy objects. However, by using deceptive maneuvers, the enemy drone will lose some resources when trying to destroy the drone. The functionality of the UAV also includes the ability to send radio waves, which can either drown out the signal or be a directed energy weapon.
At Airshow China 2021, the Chinese corporation also introduced other drones. Two WZ-7 drones were seen, one housed in an exhibition hall and the other outside for public viewing. According to AVIC, this UAV is used to collect reconnaissance images of an aerodynamic configuration, as well as to perform tactical reconnaissance missions. Another drone, WZ-8, can collect high-resolution images of objects even in carefully guarded areas, and provide valuable intelligence and information for all units to assess combat damage. Experts claim that the presentation of such technologies testifies to China's complete confidence in its world-class unmanned aerial vehicles.[1]
