2021: Launch LTE-M trackers

The Swedish company C Security Systems chose the international service provider Orange Business Services and the association IoT Continuum to launch LTE-M trackers in the European market. The LTE-M modules used in the devices were tested in the Orange laboratory, as the latter reported on October 14, 2021.

C Security Systems, headquartered in Stockholm, is an expert in mobile communications and positioning technology, specializing in boat, pet and livestock tracking devices. In Europe, the company decided to use LTE-M technology, as it provides security at the carrier level, long battery life, the necessary bandwidth and the ability to work in remote locations.

IoT Continuum is a partner project of Orange, developers of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions Sierra Wireless and LACROIX, as well as semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics. Companies are working together to simplify and accelerate the mass deployment of IoT in European markets and beyond.

C Security Systems appreciated the experience of Orange and IoT Continuum in the field of IoT, especially their ability to provide a seamless, secure comprehensive solution for tracking technology of the company with extended battery life. As part of the C Security Systems project, called Spara, Orange also collaborates with Sierra Wireless.

All LTE-M modules used in trackers are tested in the Orange lab and accredited to work in the LTE-M network, which adds value to C Security Systems and its Spara project. This is an important competitive advantage in the European market, since the company's customers receive comprehensive information about the components of the tracker.

The IoT Continuum Association, founded in June 2021, supports international business in IoT implementation processes through LTE (including Cat M and Cat 1) and 5G to provide growth opportunities through significant savings for customers in segments such as smart buildings, automotive, healthcare, smart cities, and smart manufacturing. Members of the association also promote eSIM and 5G technologies for the mass Internet of Things.
