July 13, 2010. The Asteros company and IBM corporation announced contract signature on creation of a hardware platform for the ERP system of the Prodo group. The platform built by Asteros on the basis of new servers of IBM ex5 will provide reliable and failsafe support of key business operations of food group.
The Prodo group – one of the largest players of federal scale in the market of meat processing, poultry farming and pig-breeding. The enterprises of group are located in 11 regions of Russia. To provide development and effective management of business of the company, the management made the decision on implementation of the ERP system which required creation of high-performance IT infrastructure. One of important features of project implementation – existence of a distributed network of branches which also should be integrated into the unified information system.
During the project specialists of Asteros will perform installation and tuning of the computer system based on the equipment of IBM.
4 eX5 servers of the last generation of the senior model of servers of standard architecture of IBM were a part of the hardware-software platform. Characteristics of the x3850 X5 server will allow Prodo depending on the needs to change configurations, to increase memory and to create new sections within the server platform. Modular construction of the server helps to adapt a system to current demands of business and to react quickly to their changes. The M2, 3650 M3 servers 3550 M2, 3650 and storage systems of DS 3950 and TS 3200 also were a part of a hardware platform.
Project completion is planned for the 4th quarter 2010.
