History

2021: CDW bought Sirius Computer Solutions for $2.5 billion

In mid-October 2021, the CDW technology company announced the purchase of Sirius Computer Solutions from the private investment company Clayton, Dubliner & Rice. The value of the transaction amounted to $2.5 billion.

CDW CEO Christine Leahy said Sirius will provide the company with the tools to accelerate growth and solve more complex technology projects. She also said Sirius Computer Solutions will expand CDW's service business by 45% from about $900 million a year to $1.3 billion. One of the largest IT integrators in the United States has 2,600 employees.

She also added that as customers need increasingly complex and critical digital transformation initiatives, Sirius's broad portfolio of world-class technology solutions and service approach will take advantage of new opportunities to meet this demand.

The deal is expected to close in December 2021. Clayton, Dubliner & Rice, which has shares in its portfolio in IT companies such as Capco, Cloudera and Epicor, invested in Sirius in 2019.

As part of the deal, Evercore acted as CDW's financial advisor, while Clayton, Dubliner & Rice and Sirius advised Guggenheim Securities.[1]
