Russian plant began exporting Kia cars

The first foreign market was Belarus, and the first export model was the fourth-generation Kia Sorento. By the end of 2021, Kia Seltos and Sportage of the Russian assembly will also begin to be shipped to the Belarusian market.

In the future, the Avtotor plant, together with its partners, plans to expand the range of models and the volume of foreign cars produced that will be sold abroad, the company's press service said.

They also noted that the development of the direction of export to Belarus is facilitated by the high competitiveness of cars produced at the Avtotor plant, as well as its proximity to Belarusian consumers.

Russian plant began exporting Kia cars

Deliveries of Avtotor products to Belarus began in December 2017, when a pilot batch of Hyundai HD78 commercial vehicles was shipped. Since March 2018, export deliveries of Hyundai Santa Fe Premium and Hyundai Elantra models have been carried out.

By October 2021, about 40 BMW, Kia, Hyundai, Ford models are assembled at the Avtotor plant. In 2020, the company produced almost 157 thousand cars, which is 27% less than a year ago.

By October 2021, Avtotor is implementing a project to build a new production building. It will ensure a phased increase in the production of cars produced in a full cycle.

In addition, in the new workshop, colors will be used instead of solvent paints, which as a result will have a positive impact on the environmental friendliness of the enterprise. In general, Ministry of Industry and Trade Russia Avtotor will invest 32 billion to implement obligations under a special investment contract with the government of the Kaliningrad region. rubles^[1]
