2021: Announcement of implants for the treatment of fractures of small bones without stress on large

At the end of October 2021, Globus Medical announced the launch of sales of the Anthem Mini Fragment fracture fixation system. This device is designed to fix fractures of small bones and non-bearing, as well as stabilize the long bones of the upper and lower limbs.

Implants are made of titanium and stainless steel and have eight types of plates of a wide range of sizes. In addition, the plates have a polyaxial fixation technology at an angle of 30 °, which allows them to be used for various anatomical features of patients and the nature of various fractures.

This is an innovative addition to our growing portfolio of trauma products from Globus Medical. The device responds to a trend among surgeons to complement the treatment of complex fractures of long bones with plates with mini-fragments. With Anthem Mini Fragment, surgeons have an adaptable small plate system designed to better match the complex anatomy encountered in such procedures, said Dan Scavilla, president of orthopedics at Globus Medical, in a press release.
