2021: Announcement of an electric aircraft flying at a speed of 250 km/h

On October 18, 2021, Air, an aviation company based in Israel, introduced a two-seater electric aircraft called One, designed for personal use.

Air One is an electric aircraft with a fixed wing, designed for two people. Both passengers will have access to the aircraft control system, which will allow joint piloting. The aircraft is driven by eight electric motors and uses eight pairs of rotors located on the sides of the aircraft for flight with a maximum speed of 250 km/h and a maximum range of 177 km. The cabin opens like a layup, and the floor has a glass bottom. The Air One flight radius is partly due to the ease of the aircraft: the Air One wings and rotors do not tilt, and the lack of equipment necessary to tilt the wings reduces its weight.

The aircraft includes an "intent flight" system developed by Air, which is used in unmanned drones manufactured by the company, which allows those with little flight experience to safely and easily pilot Air One. It is also planned to include technology that will automatically monitor the condition of the aircraft to ensure safety of operation for passengers. The wings of the aircraft have a folding structure, in a folded state it can fit in any parking space designed for a car.

By the end of October 2021, the Air One electric aircraft is available for pre-order, but its cost is not reported.

Air is not the only company that develops personal electric aircraft. In the summer of 2021, iFly introduced a single-seat aircraft operating on autopilot. By October 2021, the Japanese aviation company Tetra is working on an electric Mk-5 aircraft designed for one person, which can be built independently. [1]
