2021: Creating a platform for rapid data exchange

Otkritie Bank and VK have created a high-performance platform for fast data exchange between root systems and digital banking products. The solution based on Tarantool Data Grid will allow Otkritie Bank to accelerate the display of information in services by three times, and at peak loads by ten times. That was announced by the bank on November 8, 2021.

Otkritie Bank and VK implemented the first part of a large joint IT project. On the basis of Tarantool Data Grid, a platform for accessing client services data was created in two months at Otkritie Bank. It made it possible to accelerate the interaction of transactional systems of the bank with a single front-end solution, which is responsible for displaying data in user services.

As of November 2021, the system operates with cardholders for more than 57 million accounts and is used in all physical branches of the bank. In 2022, it is planned to use the platform to accelerate services in other areas of the bank's client business. It is planned to complete the project in the third quarter of 2022.

The solution will reduce the load on root systems and increase throughput. The platform can withstand a load 20 times higher than the standard volume of requests during the whole working day. The system guarantees protection against data loss, has built-in tools for processing data and expanding functionality, as well as integration with other systems, "said Sergey Korsun, deputy department for business development support at Otkritie Bank.
