2021: Online Training Program for Future Digital Transformation Leaders

On November 9, 2021, Gazprombank announced that together with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology on the basis of the Fizteh School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics (FPMI), it implemented an online training program for future leaders of digital transformation. Employees of the Bank who successfully completed the training "Digital Transformation Management," or "Flagmans," received MIPT diplomas of the established model with the right to work in digital transformation projects in the banking sector. In addition, the program allowed the flagships to form digital and agile thinking, change the attitude of employees to conditions of uncertainty and simplify communications between business departments and IT, teaching them to speak the same language.

Gazprombank is building a digital organization where the center of innovation is a person, so the opportunity to improve its digital competencies was given to all employees: both technical and non-technical specialists, both experienced experts and young specialists. Of the more than 1000 registered participants, 288 flagships from different regions were selected. Russia Based on a specially developed model of digital competencies, participants were assigned to cross-functional teams in such a way that they complemented each other in a set of skills. Educational part of the program was built taking into account the Agile approach to working on the product and consisted of four two-week sprints. In addition, more than 50 workshops were organized base and knowledge was developed with a summary of lessons and additional materials from all classes. In the conditions pandemics , the training took place completely in online format.

The programme involved more than 50 teachers and experts. 30 selected and trained team lead or head mentors were also involved in the development of participants and team support - these are experts with IT and business competencies who have successful experience in managing technology projects.

From a methodological point of view, the program was built on a practical approach, that is, the teams were trained on real projects of the Bank's digital transformation. As a result, by the end of the training, Gazprombank received 19 working technical prototypes.

In 2021, our large-scale training program for future leaders of the Flagman digital transformation was loudly voiced, an application for participation in which any employee could submit. This is a special product in the business education market for personalized training in digital competencies in the format of learning by doing, which we have collected ourselves. Almost 300 bank employees became its graduates. One of the features of the Flagmans Program is that we did not make any restrictions on position, experience, age, or geographical basis. This significantly complicated the task from a methodological point of view, but provided huge chances for all Bank employees to prove themselves, enter the digital personnel reserve and become leaders in digital transformation, "commented Olga Terpigoreva, head of the HR Department.

The Digital Transformation Management program often becomes part of fundamental changes in the approaches to organizing business and the work of teams in large companies. But not every customer is able to take the same pace in mastering the material and applying the skills obtained on the program as the Gazprombank team. This factor turned out to be the main challenge in the implementation of the program for the Educational and Methodological Laboratory of Innovation FPMI MIPT. We have gained interesting experience in conducting a full-fledged course in the format of corporate "intensity." It is important to note that the short time frame did not affect the effectiveness of training: 93% of participants successfully completed the course and received MIPT diplomas.
