2021: Scaling and Improving Predictive Analytics in the Guardian Platform

Hitachi Vantara, a company specializing in digital infrastructure, data management and analytics, announced on November 9, 2021 that it is expanding partnerships with the Rainforest Connection startup to scale and improve the predictive analytics system in the Guardian platform to stop illegal deforestation and preserve rainforest biodiversity.

Taking as a basis the eco-acoustic data of the Guardian platform, Hitachi Vantara experts developed an algorithm based on artificial intelligence that systematizes all information, analyzes it and detects anomalies, for example, the voices of people or the sounds of soaring birds, which most often indicate the beginning of logging. As a result, the Rainforest Connection team will be able to better inform environmental authorities about the upcoming illegal logging.
