2021: Calculation of optimal passenger transportation fleet to production sites
On November 10, 2021, Assorkx announced the implementation of a consulting project for ILIM, based on the calculation of the optimal fleet of passenger transportation to the company's production sites, in Ust-Ilimsk.
Within the framework of the project, the Assortment optimization software was used, which made it possible to calculate the optimal composition of the fleet in terms of cost and service level on the operational and long-term planning horizons.
In the project, it was necessary to take into account the capital and operational costs of the own fleet, the services of contractors, taking into account passenger traffic, cost, type of transport, capacity, seasonality and a number of other parameters.
Calculations were made on the investment horizon for 30 years, until 2050 and the operational horizon for 18 months, with details to the route, type of transport and day of transportation.
The calculation of physical indicators was used as the basis for the calculation of financial indicators for the budget items of the company's passenger transport costs.
The use of a specialized mathematical solver in the Assortment planning system made it possible to calculate plans and passenger traffic, taking into account many ad hoc parameters and perform a comparative analysis on options and versions of the calculation.
The result of the work, among other things, helped the management of the company make a balanced and justified decision on the development of the company's passenger transport fleet, assessing the volume of investments.
Taking into account the development of the need for personnel transportation, opening, expansion, modernization and introduction of new sites, changes and evolution of production parameters, the calculation model can be used with pre-configuration for new calculations, obtaining new results, through integration with accounting and I&C ILIM systems.

Assorkx has completed an interesting and complex consulting project for ILIM.
As part of the optimization model, several non-linear calculations with a hybrid objective function (cost optimization and service level maximization) were implemented. The model implements unique calculation parameters, which in the future can be used to calculate taking into account changes in production, repairs, the composition of employees, taking into account contract workers and many others.
