2022: Final phase of testing of the digital platform for public transport in Perm
On March 12, 2022, Datapax announced that as part of the final phase of the pilot project for the digitalization of public transport, the results of using services on city buses and trams were presented. A comprehensive public transport management system has been developed by Datapax. The pilot project has been operating on bus routes No. 4, 59, 80 and on tram route No. 8 since November 2021.
The Perm Department of Transport noted the service of identifying stowaway and automatic control of the controller service. In vehicles, passenger counting sensors are installed that allow you to identify stowaways and determine sections of the route network with the highest concentration of stowaway trips. Based on the information received, the system automatically generates orders in the mobile application of supervisors for verification.
The system allows to automatically monitor the execution of the traffic schedule, control the content on the media panels and monitor the situation inside the vehicle using a video surveillance system. 2021: Testing the public transport management system

From November 11, 2021, on bus routes No. 4, 59 and 80, as well as on tram No. 8, a pilot project will be launched to pay for travel using the PERM Transport application, which is already available for download on Google Play and the App Store. This application allows you to make a "lazy payment" without linking to any device inside the transport: it itself recognizes a specific car, after which it is enough to confirm the trip in the application and allow charging a credit card. Also in the application in real time you can monitor the movement of those participating in the pilot project of trams along the route, find out the time of their arrival at the stop and build the route. Since the application starts in test mode, it does not provide for the function of providing a free transfer, so Permians need to independently evaluate the feasibility of paying for travel using this service.
In addition to the application, it is planned to test the automated information system for transport control on the trams of route No. 8: navigation control, the schedule development and adjustment module, control over stowaway passengers, etc. The system is tested free of charge by the developer and according to the results it will be possible to evaluate and form a further program for the development of digitalization of urban passenger transport.
