2021: Development of IT and network infrastructure

On November 11, 2021, X-Com announced the implementation of the project for the development of IT and network infrastructure of the Federal State Budgetary Institution for Science "Institute of Mechanics Problems named after A.Yu. Ishlinsky" of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPMeh RAS).

To conduct fundamental and applied research in key areas of the Institute's scientific activities (general mechanics, theory and methods of managing dynamic systems, mechanics of natural processes and environments, geomechanics, biomechanics, etc.), the customer needed to equip employees' workplaces with computers. It was also necessary to organize a wireless segment of the local network in one of the premises of the institution.

X-Com engineers conducted an audit of the customer's information system, including software and hardware, client equipment and network infrastructure. The requirements of the software used in research activities for the hardware part of computers were also carefully analyzed. Based on the data received, the requirements for the organization of jobs were developed.

The project uses computers of our own production X-Com, precisely customized to the requirements of specialists of various profiles in accordance with the specifics of the tasks they perform. This approach made it possible to offer a solution with the best price/performance ratio and minimize the project budget due to the lack of overpayment for excess functionality. To organize wireless access to the institution's network, a gigabit MU-MIMO - was used. Wi-Firouter TP-Link Archer C6

The selection of the project contractor was made on the basis of an open tender, the participants of which were system integrators, manufacturers and suppliers of computer equipment. Along with the price proposal, when considering competitive applications, the experience of candidates in implementing projects similar in scope and complexity to the informatization of state scientific organizations was evaluated. By a majority of votes of the members of the tender commission, X-Com was recognized as the winner, which presented the most qualified and financially justified conditions for the supply of equipment and the performance of work.
