2021: Preservation of cultural heritage with Huawei equipment
On November 12, 2021, the company, Huawei a global supplier, Information and communications technology together with the integrator company Tegrus , implemented a comprehensive project to create engineering infrastructure and for data center "" in. As Libraries named after V.V. Mayakovsky St. Petersburg a result, an infrastructure was created ICT that ensures the convenience and accessibility of current digital services for both employees and visitors to the library.
The Central City Public Library named after V.V. Mayakovsky has more than 150 years of history of formation and overcoming historical circumstances, preserving its value and authenticity for visitors and local residents. Despite the rich past, management pays great attention to the future. Taking into account the modern technical possibilities of development, the library has a virtual reading room and an audiobook fund. The library also has an impressive volume of network licensed databases, electronic catalogs and a library in the amount of more than 5 million documents and records.
"Mayakovka" (so it is known to local residents) is rightfully considered one of the most technically equipped libraries in St. Petersburg. The library provides an automated wardrobe area, self-service for visitors, as well as an integrated system for transporting books inside the building for employees.
According to the leadership, Mayakovka should become an information hub and in the future place digital capacities of the entire combined network of libraries in St. Petersburg. To this end, during the modernization of the library building, a project was initiated to create a unique corporate library service system. Its realization was enabled by the TEGRUS company which in 6 weeks constructed the data-processing center (DPC) for library of V. Mayakovsky and engineering infrastructure.
The building of the library named after Mayakovsky is a monument of history and culture. Nearby are also historical buildings. All this had to be taken into account when planning and building an IT infrastructure.
TEGRUS created a project concept for the library, calculated the optimal configuration of all engineering systems, designed the integration of systems, installed, configured, tested and launched IT infrastructure into industrial operation.
The entire data center infrastructure was implemented on the basis of Huawei equipment and solutions. FusionModule2000 is a new generation modular data center that combines cabinets with basic equipment, power distribution system, cooling system, cable system, control system and other subsystems.
The solution is flexible to deploy, as it supports the installation of cabinets in one or two rows with insulation of the passage of cold or hot air flow. It has a high degree of integration, data center space savings, high energy efficiency, fast installation capability, optimal compatibility, full-scale monitoring system and stable cooling, as well as exceptional safety and reliability.
Also in the reconstructed library building, TEGRUS specialists deployed a high-speed wireless network Wi-Fi based on Huawei equipment, designed for both library visitors and its employees. The network is shunless and has the ability to expand to neighboring library buildings.
According to the results of the project, the library named after V.V. Mayakovsky received a modern, technological, corresponding to all industry requirements of the data center and a reliable engineering infrastructure.
Thanks to the professionalism of the engineering teams of TEGRUS, Huawei and the customer, it was possible not only to preserve the historical appearance and spirit of the library, but also to make its work modern and convenient for both employees and visitors.
