2021: Creating a Web Portal
The IBS team on November 16, 2021 announced the creation of a web portal for the Old Age in Joy Foundation, which helps optimize internal processes: collect statistics from the Grandchildren by Correspondence program and display the results of the fund in numbers.
Old age in joy is a charitable foundation that helps disabled and elderly people in difficult life situations. The foundation as of November 2021 collaborates with more than 400 boarding schools in 50 regions. For a long time, employees entered information about participants in the Grandchildren by Correspondence program into hundreds of Google tables: each region and nursing home corresponded to their own table. Information from them was collected and processed manually by one person. The challenge that the Old Age in Joy Foundation addressed to IBS was to automate this work, reduce many tables into one, and simplify the preparation of analytics for this program.
The IBS team proposed to solve this problem through the creation of a web portal. To do this, it was necessary to write code that would collect information from Google tables, accumulate the project database, analyze it and plot it.
Only a registered user can access the web page by mail or password. The main screen shows all the statistics that the application has parsed (processed) on Google tables. The user will be able to set a specific year, region, average age of grandparents, grandchildren, granddaughters, and the application will give him data in the form of multi-colored graphs. Each color means something of its own, for example, orange - these are grandparents, green - grandchildren, granddaughters. The program can filter and provide data by age, the number of older people who began communication in a given year, and many other requests. New tables are automatically connected to the system. Only the administrator will see all the data from the tables.
Trainees of the company, students of the Higher School of Economics in Perm were responsible for the implementation of the technical task in the form of a website. For them, this was the first serious project as part of the course of production practice.
Previously, I had to manually count how many grandparents and granddaughters by correspondence we have, in which regions and how many. It took a lot of time. The need for a special program is long overdue, but we could not do it on our own. The IBS team took into account my wishes and created a product that meets all requests. Now you can see all the data at once and understand in which region the program is more in demand among grandparents, what is the average age of our wards and grandchildren by correspondence, how many magazines and newspapers were presented by grandchildren by correspondence with our wards, said Lyudmila Filchukova, head of the Grandchildren by Correspondence program.
