2021: iRobot bought Aeris for $72 million

In mid-November 2021, the manufacturer of robot vacuum cleaners iRobot announced the purchase of the Swiss developer of air cleaners Aeris. The deal amounted to $72 million.

iRobot acquired Aeris for $72 million

By the end of November 2021, Aeris offers four air purifiers: Aair Lite, Aair 3-in-1 Pro, Aair Medical Pro, Aair Gas Pro. Prices start from $499. Aeris air purifiers using HEPA filtration, the latest developments, artificial intelligence and thoughtful design are designed to improve the overall quality of cleaning by quietly removing a wide range of pollutants, including allergens, smoke, smells and pet wool. Using the Aeris mobile application, users can activate their air cleaner, monitor the speed of the fan, and compare the air quality in the room and on the street.

According to iRobot, the transaction has already been completed, and the company paid $72 million in cash for Aeris.

In addition to initial cash remuneration, the company notes. - The deal provides for the payment of moderate profit based on results if Aeris reaches certain targets next year.

Aeris founders Pierre Bee (CEO) and Constantine Overlack (Chief Operating Officer) will join the iRobot and lead the production of air purification products, including development, product management and design. By the end of November 2021, Aeris employs more than 30 people, and they are all expected to join the iRobot.[1]
