CORUS Consulting completed implementation of Oracle Hyperion Planning * in Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT). The project was implemented in 45 working days
Founded in 1992, the Latvijas Mobilais Telefons company is the largest mobile operator in Latvia. Originally LMT was created as the operator of the NMT system. In January, 1995 the GSM network, in December, 1999 – the double-frequency network 900/1800 MHz began to work. Since September, 2002 data services of GPRS became available to clients of the enterprise. Since December, 2004 the network of mobile communication of third generation of UMTS began to work in the commercial mode.
The command of Corus Consulting defined the completed project how unique: the main work on setup of a system was performed by the customer's specialists, and the system integrator was engaged in system architecture design, study of methodological issues and training of specialists of LMT. The mobile operator already had experience of implementation of an automated system of budgeting: about six years ago in LMT the solution Oracle Financial Analyzer was implemented. Then participation of the client in the project was minimum therefore he met the difficulties caused by insufficient knowledge of a system. For this reason complete involvement of a command of customer organization in the project became a key condition of cooperation of LMT and Corus Consulting.
Unlike standard 4-5 months, process of implementation of Oracle Hyperion Planning in LMT was executed in very short terms – 45 working days (slightly more than 2 months). In the combined project team from client side four persons worked, from Corus Consulting – two.
During the project the following tasks were solved:
- Automation of a complex algorithm of calculation of revenues of the operator considering tens of tariff plans, a set of different bonuses, programs of loyalty and calculations between operators.
- Integration with the accounting system of the client of Microsoft Dynamics AX for obtaining the actual information.
- Regulation and automation of process of control of budget implementation.
- Development of a packet of the management reporting.
The automated system of budget management supports two languages: English and Latvian.
Lauris Rozenvalds, the head of department of managerial accounting of Latvijas Mobilais Telefons company noted: "As in LMT there was already an experience of implementation of budgeting systems and planning, the maximum involvement of our specialists in this project was very important; besides, it allowed to reduce project terms. Undoubtedly, the command of Corus Consulting prepared the suitable plan of implementation containing, however, certain risks. Now, when the project is complete, and a system successfully works, we can tell surely that Corus Consulting proved to be the reliable partner: both knowledge, and efforts of consultants were at very high level. Besides, when LMT only began to look for a command for implementation, the command of Corus Consulting was really interested in cooperation, and this relation did not disappear during all project".

The client received the convenient and reliable tool which allowed to collect the budget for 2009 in only 10 days. In my opinion, the complete involvement of employees of the customer into the project, their enthusiasm and desire to make something, really, necessary became a basic reason of a project success. Oracle Hyperion Planning is the software module intended for automation of process of budgeting of the company or holding. Oracle Hyperion Planning is based on Web technology and the MS Excel, and is the centralized application for accomplishment of planning features, budgeting and forecasting applicable both to financial, and to business processes. Hyperion Planning provides completeness of information on business operations and their influence on finance of the organization due to dense integration financial and business models of planning (can be examples planning according to investment projects, promotion companies, personnel).
