Automation of budgeting in Volga-Dnieper (CPM system)

Specialists of GRK "Volga-Dnieper" successfully work in an automated system of budget management of Oracle Hyperion Planning

Founded in 1990. The Volga-Dnieper group (GRK) is the largest Russian cargo airline and the world leader in the market of air transportation of unique, large-size and superheavy loads. Integrating about twenty enterprises in seven countries of the world, the Group dynamically develops in the twenty of leaders of the world airfreight industry. The international Volga-Dnieper group totals more than 2.5 thousand employees. Volga-Dnieper the new product — service of the international freight charter transport by airplanes An-124-100 and Il-76 became success basis. Following the strategic plan of development, in 2004. Insufficiency of functionality of the software for solving of tasks of budget management in so large company defined need of implementation for GRK "Volga-Dnieper" of a specialized system of budget management. The management of Group stopped on the business application of Oracle for budgeting automation – Oracle Hyperion Planning*. The partner in implementation selected the CORUS Consulting company which made the most interesting and advantageous proposal – the complete solution including delivery of the hardware, service of installation, purchase and installation of software and carrying out consulting.

For the international company with the distributed geographical structure and the intensive relations between divisions, creation of unified information environment for implementation of process of budget management was necessary, but not sufficient condition of success of the project. Simplicity and ease of administration of the solution, readiness of new users for independent training, expansion and replication of basic model were of great importance.

The project team carried out inline tuning of a system with algorithm elaboration. For ensuring work of users from the different countries of the world the automated system of budget management supports two interfaces: Russian-and English-speaking.
