2021: Transition to Digital Control
On November 22, 2021, RT-Capital of Rostec State Corporation announced that the Motovilikhinsky Plants Civil Division, under the control of RT-Capital, introduced an electronic control system for the DSP-60 arc steelmaking furnace. This will allow implementing complex projects to model the process of smelting of steel grades as part of the creation of an expert center on smelting of rare and small-scale types of alloys on the basis of the enterprise.
The control system was developed specifically for the technical parameters of the DSP-60 Motovilikhi steel furnace, taking into account program tasks and network voltage. The equipment has an up-to-date software module and multi-mode operating system. Automatically adaptable control algorithms help to avoid arc interruption and increase power input during the well penetration phase. The system also includes a countermeasure module against electrode vibrations. The Fault Signal Collection feature enables early detection of displacements and deviations to prevent possible malfunctions. The use of the system will ensure higher smelting efficiency and lower energy consumption.
"The transition to the current IT infrastructure is carried out as part of the strategy to create a center on the basis of the Motovilikha civil division for the smelting of technological types of steels that were not previously produced in Russia, but the need for which is quite high. The correctness of our decision is confirmed by the financial performance of the enterprise. For 9 months of 2021, MGM received 385 million rubles. net profit, which is 7 times higher than the figure for 9 months of 2020, "- noted the general director of RT-Capital Semyon Yakubov. |
Also, as part of the phased digitalization of the enterprise, a corporate data center was launched at MGM. Introduction of data-processing center (DPC) will facilitate work of IT infrastructure, will increase the potential of the server hardware, will create the relevant digital platform for functioning of all information systems MGM.
"Automation of production, saving resources, as well as improvement of technological processes of the enterprise will allow us to make a leap in the development of complex grades of steel - Arctic, shipbuilding and others. The first stage of the upgrade includes the installation of an up-to-date steel furnace management system and the creation of a data center. This will allow us to organize processes for storing and transferring large amounts of data and increase the scale of work with electronic resources, take technological processes to the next level, " noted the director of MGM Sergey Dyadkin. |
The total capacity of the modular data center is 40 kVA. The container data center is built according to GOST R 58811.12-2020 standard and corresponds to the Tier 2.3 reliability level (high fault tolerance indicator). Uninterrupted operation of the data center even during scheduled operations is ensured due to redundancy of all infrastructure elements: power supply, cooling systems and communications.
An uninterruptible power supply system is installed inside the data center to ensure that the server equipment operates for 15-20 minutes in the event of an emergency power outage. It, in turn, is connected to two independent sources of electricity. The precision conditioning system maintains the necessary temperature inside the data center at an external temperature in the horizon from -45 to + 40 degrees Celsius. The data center is also equipped with video surveillance, access control, technical parameters monitoring systems and is equipped with an automatic gas fire extinguishing system.
