2021: Geographical reservation for ships in Europe

International service provider Orange Business Services expands offshore satellite coverage. The company announced this on November 24, 2021. Leased from Eutelsat 36B satellite capacity allows for geographical redundancy for ships in European waters and insure ships against possible overlap visibility to the main Express-AM8 spacecraft in this region.

In total VSAT Orange , nine rays were used for services, seven of which the Russian were satellites of the Express and Yamal series. They reserve each other a friend throughout the Northern Sea Route (NSR) as part of the service Maritime VSAT.

The rays of Eutelsat 36B (36 gr. V. d.) Are sent to Europe, Russia, Africa, Middle East and Central Asia. In Russia, Orange uses a beam "Europe-Asia," which allows not only to provide backup coverage on Europe, but also expand the service area to Arabian peninsula.

Eutelsat 36B became an addition to the Express-AM8 satellite (14 gr. e), where Orange also leases capacity. At a certain course of the vessel and location of masts, pipes and other objects on the ship visibility on the Russian satellite could overlap. Also, the signal can be obscured relief and development of the coastline. Eutelsat 36B is spaced relative to the orbital position of Express-AM8 is 50 degrees east, that sufficient to provide a backup direction.

The most popular route for Russian Orange customers through Europe is Russia-Turkey. Additional network segment in combination with Express-AM8 provides guaranteed communication throughout of this route. Here, as on NSR, Orange creates a fixed ruble tariff for Russian ships.
