2021: Completion of the construction of the data center in St. Petersburg
TALMER (included in IKS Holding"") completed construction DPC for the company "" MegaFon at the customer site in, St. Petersburg which the latter announced on November 24, 2021.
The project was aimed at modernizing IT Infrastructure R&D the center MegaFon responsible for the technological development of operator services. A significant increase in the number of technologies being worked out, testing and debugging of new equipment became prerequisites for upgrading IT the infrastructure and expanding the R&D center site.
During the design, construction, installation and commissioning works, TALMER specialists created a data center with an area of 400 m ² and modernized the existing data center with an area of 580 m ². The modernization of the existing data center infrastructure included the installation of three precision air conditioners in two car halls, the replacement of an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) in the shield room with twice as much capacity.
In the process of creating a data center, it was necessary to take into account the peculiarity of the site and look for non-standard design solutions for unloading floors. The data center room is located on the third floor of the building, while the current modernized data center R&D is located on the fourth floor, and the critical infrastructure of the operator is on the second. To ensure that construction work took place only in the volumes of the third floor, special structures were used - metal frames with support on columns and reinforcement of slabs with composite materials.
The scope of work to create a new data center included the design, installation and configuration of all engineering equipment. The data center room is designed for 90 racks with a design power of 400 kW. Both AC and DC uninterruptible guaranteed power systems were installed, configured and started in the Autohall. Both UPS and electroconverting installation are powered by two rays. Also, to ensure uninterrupted power supply, a diesel generator unit for 800 kVA was installed.
Climatic parameters are supported by a system of precision air conditioners designed according to the N + 1 system. A system of organizing air flows was implemented due to the creation of cold corridors.
Comprehensive security in the data center provides a system of intelligent access to the premises. The spaces of the autoroute and shield are covered in constant mode by a video surveillance system of 33 cameras. Rooms are protected by door opening sensors and motion sensors. In addition, the data center has installed warning systems, automatic gas fire extinguishing and integrated fire automation.
Without a reliable IT infrastructure, you can't keep pace with current trends. Time-to-market dictates the stringent requirements for the withdrawal of new services and services.
