Russian developer of 3D scanners of the human body Texel began to supply them to the UAE

Customers: Dubai Internet City

Information technology

Contractors: Texel
Product: Texel Portal

Project date: 2021/12

In November 2021, the Russian developer of 3D scanners of the human body Texel signed a contract with the management company of the free economic zone Dubai Internet City. The contract involves the delivery of Texel Portal MX systems to Dubai within two years. The first batch has equipment for $40 thousand.

The device is planned to be used as a high-speed scanner, which forms detailed geometry and texture of the object, accurately determines color and shade. With its help, you can create a full-growth model of an adult, and the scanner can automatically make measurements, which can later be compared with the size grid of an online clothing store for selecting and recommending clothes and accessories, which will be useful for startups and residents of the Dubai Internet City technology park.

Our equipment scans the object, analyzes the obtained information, then builds a 3D model in a few minutes, and then, if necessary, prepares for 3D printing or auto-rigging for animating the 3D model. This technology is unique and can be demanded in a large number of industries such as the fashion, entertainment, engineering, design and many others. That is why the DIC management chose us as a supplier, "said Texel co-founder Sergei Klimentyev.

The agreement is long-term and within 2022-2023. A number of Texel devices totaling at least one million dollars can go to Dubai Internet City.

The developers note that the Texel project has already accumulated a database of more than 60 thousand three-dimensional models of residents of different countries. Analyzing this array of information using machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms will avoid the need to use a 3D scanner. You can get a high-quality three-dimensional avatar using a smartphone - using self-made photos.
