On November 25, 2021, it became known about the creation of a self-destructing flash drive in Russia, which is primarily intended for state bodies working with confidential information. The device was developed by JSC "NPP" Krasnoznamenets. "

According to the Rostec press service (this state corporation includes the Technodinamika holding, which, in turn, owns Krasnoznamenets), if necessary, the user presses a special button on the end of the device. The built-in power supply activates the electric detonator, which burns the printed circuit board with a cumulative jet.

In Russia, created a self-destructing flash drive for government agencies

According to the developers, the novelty differs from many analogues in security for the user himself: when the electric detonator is triggered, the integrity of the storage case is not violated, and the data stored on it is destroyed without the possibility of recovery.

In the new development, the memory chip, power supply and control elements are located in a single housing. The storage capacity of the drive is not called. At the same time, Rostec noted that the capacity can be any - depending on the preferences of the buyer.

According to him, by the end of November 2021, flash drive tests are planned for long-term storage, for resistance to mechanical and climatic factors, and various design options for the case need to be worked out.

The cost and timing of the start of sales of the submitted product by the time of its announcement are not disclosed.
