In July, 2010 the Barracuda Networks company added a range of the products offered customers in the form of virtual devices, – virtual products are marked by the Vx index. The Spam & Virus Firewall Vx firewall with functions of protection against viruses and spam and also the gateway for the organization of the protected VPN connections – SSL VPN Vx is announced.

Products of the Vx series supplement already existing solution portfolio of the company in which customers can find the necessary products in the form of specialized devices, virtual machines, in the form of SaaS (the program as service) and in the form of hybrid products.

The combined "antispam-the firewall" system contains powerful tools for filtering of the outbound traffic, including scanning of mail investments, virus detection, control of volumes of transmitted data and enciphering. The Spam & Virus Firewall Vx system is capable to service to 100,000 active users of e-mail. The virtual gateway SSL VPN includes the client module Barracuda Network Connector which is installed on machines of end users and ensures functioning through the TCP and UDP protocols. Using this connector users can receive the protected SSL access to legacy client-server applications during the VPN sessions. For more detailed control administrators have an opportunity to set politicians of limitation of network resources on the basis of the rights of the user affirmed in the AD and LDAP directories. As soon as access is provided, the administrator can monitor access of VPN clients to resources using the built-in function of audit.

The Barracuda Networks company with an exit of the announced products will be able to expand audience of the consumers on a segment of medium and small business which representatives were not able to afford before purchase of full hardware solutions. Now virtual versions of these solutions became available even to rather small customers.
