2021: Announcement of a system that helps the driver not to make mistakes while driving
On November 25, 2021, Honda Motor held a presentation of future security technologies that the company is already developing. The manufacturer said that thanks to the new systems, his cars will not get into accidents.
Honda said it will aim to achieve "zero mortality rates in road accidents involving Honda motorcycles and cars worldwide by 2050," using two key technologies that are in development.
One of them is the Honda Intelligent Driver-Assist based on artificial intelligence, which provides assistance that meets the capabilities and situation of each person to reduce driving errors and risks, helping the driver achieve safe and comfortable driving:
- No errors in driving (operational assistance). The car offers help based on artificial intelligence to reduce skid and prevent delayed operations.
- Absence of prediction errors/errors (Cognitive care). The car reports risks using visual, tactile and auditory sensations.
- No errors due to careless driving (driving assistance). The car helps reduce driver fatigue/drowsiness.
The second technology is Honda Safe and Sound, which connects all road users through telecommunications, allowing you to predict potential risks and help people avoid such risks before an actual collision:
- The system understands/recognizes the situation and environment of each driver and road user.
- Through the communication network, information about potential risks in the transport environment will be aggregated on the server, and risks are predicted using the reproduction of the road environment in the virtual space.
- The system receives the most appropriate supporting information, transmits it to each road user and encourages them to take measures to avoid potential risk before it actually happens.
In an effort to make traffic safe, Honda will also expand the implementation of the Honda Sensing 360, a safety and driver assistance system available on all models that will go on sale in all major markets by 2030. In addition, Honda will continue to expand the use of motorcycle detection and further improve the functions of its ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), while expanding the use of motorcycle safety technologies and offering safety training technologies (Honda Safety EdTech).[1]
