On December 1, 2021, it became known that the US Army signed a contract with Cole Engineering Services in the amount of $957.7 million for the provision of cyber training services to the army.
Cole Engineering Services is a developer, integrator and service provider offering a full range of training and analysis services. CESI introduces operational, modeling, simulation and gaming technologies.
The Florida-based technology company will provide support for training events, as well as the development and maintenance of the architecture of cyber learning systems. The contract includes support for blue team cybersecurity employees who work to identify vulnerabilities and protect core assets.
The places of work and financing have not yet been determined, but the estimated date of completion is November 29, 2029. According to the Army Contract Command, five purchase requisitions were received.
The Sustainable Cyber Learning Environment (PCTE) will be based in a cloud computing environment and will use integrated virtual machines to connect cyber and test sites to a more collaborative learning network. PCTE will engage in experiments, mission rehearsals, cyberspace training and certification, and support the development and evaluation of future technologies for the US Department of Defense.
The contract is one of several major purchases made by the U.S. Army in 2021, including a $192.6 million contract for simulation and training management software, which was also concluded with Cole Engineering in June 2021 and in the same month the army signed a contract worth $2.4 billion to provide IT services to its National Cybersecurity Complex for 10 years and was concluded with 14 companies, including Lockheed, Boeing, Command Post Technologies and Axiologic Solutions.[1]
