2021: Automation of the line for the production of covers from used PET bottles

The manufacturer of disposable utensils and packaging in the Ural Federal District, Upax-Unity, launched an automated line in Perm for the production of covers for sour cream, yogurt and cottage cheese from used PET bottles. This environmentally oriented production was created thanks to a preferential loan from the Industrial Development Fund, which announced this on December 8, 2021.

The company uses its own technology for the deep processing of secondary PET bottles and the production of raw materials suitable for the production of food packaging. The launched line is able to process up to 60 thousand PET bottles per hour.

Used bottles are completely cleaned from harmful contaminants. After that, PET tape is produced from the obtained mixture, from which ready-made dairy product covers are formed. It is also possible to manufacture packaging for salads, confectionery products, other food and non-food products on the equipment.

The implementation of the project allows you to increase the processing of plastic garbage, and not dispose of it at landfills, which will favorably affect the environment. This corresponds to the objectives of the national project "Ecology" and the achievement of national development goals to create a comfortable and safe environment for life.

The total budget for the creation of the line exceeded 100 million rubles. Half of these funds under the preferential loan under the Development Projects program were provided by the federal Industrial Development Fund - 30 million rubles, and the Regional Industrial Development Fund of the Perm Territory - 20 million rubles. Thanks to the launch of the line, the enterprise created 12 additional jobs.

In early 2021, Upax-Unity launched a line for the deep processing of PET bottles and the production of rigid packaging for food products with a capacity of up to 1 thousand tons of plastic per month. Investments in this production exceeded 1.2 billion rubles, of which 500 million rubles in the form of a preferential loan were also provided by the federal Industrial Development Fund.
