2021: Creating a Mining Farm
In 2021, a large batch of cryptocurrency mining equipment from Georgia and China was brought to the Zaporizhzhya ferroalloy plant, the possession of which is attributed to the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky. Its cost is about $27.6 million - this is 2600 devices from Bitfury and 12,500 from Bitmain.
If the equipment is used at full capacity, the farm can bring about 80 MTS per month. At the same time, the plant received cheap electricity from Energoatom through United Energy, which is also associated with Kolomoisky, the investigation said. The legality of this purchase is checked by law enforcement officers.
