Large retail retail chain stores "Thing!" has the distribution center (DC) where goods from suppliers are accepted, and then are shipped more in small lots to shops of network. RTs works on technology cross docking: the arrived goods are redirected to shops of retail chain stores at once, without being placed in the storage area. High performance of the executed transactions is necessary for the modern distribution center.

For process optimization of RTs the decision on transition to the inexpensive and quickly customized system, replacement of the old equipment by new was made. As a result of implementing solution it was going to transfer processing of documents and goods to the on-line mode, to reduce their time of processing.

The main criteria on selection of the solution were the following factors: the low cost of the equipment, speed and simplicity of setup, an opportunity for work of devices with the terminal client. The solution proposed Pilot companies corresponded to the conditions shown by the customer to the project.

Specialists of Pilot company offered new development of the Finnish producer Nordic ID – Morphic data collection terminal. Despite the small size and weight of the device the terminal is equipped with all modern communication technologies (Wi-Fi, GPRS), works on the powerful processor, has the large volume of an operational and non-volatile memory. The thought-over construction of the terminal provides a comfortable position of the terminal both in men's, and in a female hand. The terminal is equipped with ergonomic keys and the intuitive interface that simplifies work with the device in the course of its operation.

At implementing solution the specialists keeping the project faced difficulties in setup of the solution under processes of RTs, an exit from this situation was setup of the terminal client in the environment of Wi-Fi. Information comes directly to the accounting system. The solution works online. Due to unloading of operators of a warehouse during goods acceptance there was an opportunity to redistribute the released personnel on accomplishment of other warehouse transactions.
