2021: Upgrading Storage Infrastructure

TEGRUS has modernized the storage infrastructure of data centers of Moscow State University. This was announced by Tegrus on December 15, 2021.

The updated data processing and storage infrastructure will increase the reliability and availability of information systems and services of TsMI Moscow State University and ensure the proper level of security of scientific data.

Due to the increase in the number of marine and coastal research activities, the CMI decided to upgrade its data processing and storage systems because the capacity of the existing equipment used in the common data processing system was no longer sufficient.

TEGRUS is a single contractor for this project. The system integrator was faced with the task of developing a new tiered, scalable storage solution that meets the requirements for the growth rate of information storage (50-75% per year), is relevant in the IT market for the next few years and is optimal in terms of space-price-quality ratio.

The project was fully implemented based on Dell Technologies solutions. The customer already used serveradell EMC PowerEdge of the 13th generation and wanted to keep or use whenever possible them in the developed decision. The implementation of the system with the installation of Dell Technologies equipment was preceded by a comprehensive audit of the current equipment, all systems and information stored in arrays were categorized, and the optimal solution was designed. As part of this project, TEGRUS has offered Dell EMC tiered storage with FC connectivity, a five-year warranty, and the ability to further scale any of the tiers according to your needs.

The implemented platforms storage systems were implemented in 2 months. A fully upgraded data processing and storage infrastructure will increase the reliability and availability of information systems and services, ensure the proper level of data security, and provide operational scalability-systems in IT the face of growing customer needs.
