The IBS Borlas company for JSC Machine-building Plant ZiO-Podolsk performed delivery of the software of Oracle Primavera.

Machine-building plant "ZiO-Podolsk" – one of leading enterprises of the holding company "Atomnoye i energeticheskoye mashinostroyeniye" (JSC Atomenergomash). Interest of the plant in creation of an effective project management system is explained by existence of projects of production of the expensive equipment long (over a year) (boilers for thermal power, the equipment for an oil and gas complex, etc.). At the same time in structure of JSC Machine-building Plant ZiO-Podolsk there is a specialized link – the Management of Summary Network Planning (MSNP) which main objectives are planning and control of execution of the projects which are kept the plant.


Within the agreement with the ZiO-Podolsk plant IBS Borlas delivered to machine-building plant of the license Oracle Primavera, carried out consultation on basic setup of a system. Transition to the new software product took place quite quietly. Now filling of the Primavera database is conducted by reference books and projects of the customer.


In the majority of projects ZiO-Podolsk is selected by three main stages:

  • development of design-technology documentation,
  • purchase of materials and component parts,
  • equipment manufacturing.

Thus, the main requirements imposed on USSP to the expected results of system operation of project management were:

  • ensuring timely supply of materials and component parts for production needs;
  • uniform and permanent loading of resources of the plant, convenient mechanism of identification of the resource conflicts;
  • user-friendly interface of work with a large number of the projects which are crossed on time of execution, the analysis of interproject dependences;
  • fast replanning of loading of resources in case of a production deviation from the planned working schedule;
  • use of methodological base during creation of new projects on the basis of templates;
  • automatic formation of the activity list of the project on the basis of specifics of the performed project;
  • accumulation of the knowledge base of the finished projects.

Change of the software for management of summary network planning is caused by impossibility of implementation of a number of tasks using the Microsoft Project system existing at the customer.

Maxim Derevyanko, the head of department of summary network planning of JSC Machine-building Plant ZiO-Podolsk reported, in particular:

  • Use of the product Oracle Primavera Methodology Management became the main innovation for work of our enterprise regarding project planning. In this product it is created and further the base of standard templates of standard business processes is updated. It allows to create as fast as possible in Primavera Project Management a working schedule draft version practically all possible types of the projects executed by the plant that is especially necessary when developing the technical commercial offer for participation in competitive procedures.
