ConnectVD allows connection of the file of a virtual disk or the picture in the modes "only reading" or "reading record" depending on a current status of the virtual machine. If at the time of connection the virtual machine is active, then data from a virtual disk will be available only to reading. If the virtual machine is switched off, data on a virtual disk are available to a read and write.

Developers ensured safety of the client systems and data. Thanks to special drivers the connected virtual disks remain invisible to OS, thus, they are absolutely unavailable to applications from third-party producers or potentially dangerous programs.

Paragon Software uses ConnectVD in many own products. Third-party developers will also be able to add support of technology to proprietary applications using the VIM SDK tools – the special version of ConnectVD for the built-in programs.
