Thus, Aeroflot, which previously used preferential foreign equipment, decided to switch to domestic equipment. The volume of servers ordered will not allow you to completely abandon foreign solutions, but it will help partially transfer databases to domestic solutions, says Dmitry Gorkavenko, Director of Business Development of the iKS-Consulting.

According to him, it is not yet clear how much the new equipment will help avoid failure. In May 2021, Aeroflot encountered problems in computer systems, due to which aircraft departures were delayed, and passengers could not register for flights. One of the Dell EMC solutions caused problems. Back in 2018, Aeroflot announced that it could transfer its systems to Russian servers from 2022, the publication notes.

The publication also says that the authorities demanded that companies with state participation accelerate the process of import substitution of equipment through directives that obliged members of the board of directors acting in the interests of the Russian Federation to initiate a board meeting and vote for such tenders. According to the executive director of Association of the Russian developers and producers of an elektronikiivan of Pokrovsky, in 2021 growth of sales of the Russian equipment (computer facilities, a telecom - and industrial electronics) was 20%.[1]
