2022: Optimization of production planning and procurement management

Specialists of the company LLC "Institute of Model Solutions" automated the work of the production enterprise "RADIUS Automatics." This was announced on September 7, 2022 by 1C. 1C:ERP Enterprise Management helped to optimize production planning and procurement management. Uninterrupted supply of production units with the necessary materials and components is ensured. The duration of the average production cycle has been reduced by 15%, the fulfillment of customer orders has been accelerated. Previously, production, sales and purchasing planning, order fulfillment monitoring and budgeting in the company were not automated. The production program was compiled in spreadsheets, often without correlation with incoming customer orders. In the used information system, only actual accounting of operations was carried out, regulated reporting was formed in a separate outdated program. It took too long to perform the simplest actions in the business process of production management (registration and processing of an order, transferring it for execution, entering information about the release and write-off of materials into the database, etc.), which reduced the production rate.

The company needs an information system that would help optimize the work of production units, reduce delays in the execution of orders, increase the accuracy of planning the purchase of components for a realistic production program, and reduce the labor intensity of preparing regulated reporting.

At the first stage of the project, which lasted six months, operational accounting in warehouses and in production, as well as regulated accounting, was automated. A few months later, the tasks of production planning were automated on the basis of accepted customer orders, automatic preparation of a procurement plan for the production program formed in the system was implemented. Currently, 1C:ERP use sales, manufacturing, supply and warehouse, accounting and administration, with a total of 70 jobs automated.

Key project results:

• Annual and operational production planning was implemented. The creation of a production schedule in the 1C:ERP allows you to optimally allocate production resources for the stages of product assembly.
• The manager now updates the production program directly when a new sales order arrives. The company has the opportunity to hire urgent orders. This allows you to expand the sales segment, attract more customers and increase sales volumes in the future.
• Based on the production plan and schedule, the system accurately calculates the material requirements and plans purchasing based on the current orders and available inventory. The purchase plans set the required quantities and delivery dates. This helped to ensure the uninterrupted supply of production with materials and components, eliminated delays in the fulfillment of orders and the production program as a whole, the deadlines for the execution of most orders were reduced by 15%. In addition, losses associated with excess purchases and reassortment are excluded (when others were mistakenly purchased instead of the required components), the total cost of materials is reduced by 10%.
