2021: Start a Closed Wireless Broadband Network

PJSC Rostelecom"" and the gold mining company JSC Pole Aldan"" launched a closed wireless broadband network communications using private (LTE pLTE) 1 technology at the Kuranakh gold deposit in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Rostelecom announced this on December 24, 2021. 100 units of mining transport equipment are already operating on this network, continuous exchange is carried out data with moving objects at speeds of up to 90 km/h.

A similar project using pLTE technologies, with the simultaneous installation of 11 base stations, will be deployed in Russia for the first time. Rostelecom provided fault tolerance of the network and core of the system, provided subscription kits for equipment and a guaranteed power supply system that provides the necessary duration of operation taking into account the climatic conditions of the region. In the future, it is possible to quickly deploy communication in the fifth generation (5G) standard on the network infrastructure with minimal costs.
