Scanify API: Passport

In February, 2009 the Cognitive Technologies company announced a release of the new version of the program interface of scanning and recognition of the documents Scanify API 1.8. In it support of recognition of the Russian foreign passports with biometric data and foreign passports of more than 100 states of the world is implemented. Also from the previous version it is distinguished by increase in accuracy of recognition by 30% and reduction of the general time of processing for 25%, developers claim.

The program interface Scanify API is developed by Cognitive Technologies in 2005. The Scanify technology allowing to perform hands-off processing of identity documents in a single stream – passports, car driver licenses and other documents is its cornerstone. As noted, for last three years the technology was built in tens of information systems of third-party developers and is successfully used in the hotel business, salons of mobile communication, motor shows, the banking sector and other areas focused on work with individuals.

The basis of the new version was formed by the results of complex researches based on processing more than 2500 samples of documents. During test transactions of input and recognition by specialists of Cognitive Technologies "after-training" of the existing algorithms due to optimization of mechanisms of processing of graphic images and recognition was carried out that promoted increase in effectiveness of their work.

Scanify API represents a set of dynamic link libraries and ActiveX-components that allows to be integrated freely with solutions which are created on software platforms of Microsoft Windows. This software product is built in directly a corporate information system of the organization customer and allows to implement input of documents within the usual user interface. During recognition cross and logical check of the data which are contained in documents is exercised, there is a possibility of automatic verification of the entered information on databases, and their also visual verification.
