2022: Optimizing Thermal Energy Utilization in Boiler Houses with OLAP Technology
On January 10, 2022, it became known that the State Unitary Enterprise "Fuel and Energy Complex St. Petersburg" optimizes the useful release of thermal energy at boiler houses using OLAP technologies. The introduction of the Energy Balance information and analytical system into the work of generation sources will be implemented as part of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation."
Boiler houses, heating networks data and on the consumption by subscribers of the State Unitary Enterprise "" ENERGY INDUSTRY SPb will become sites for running in the Energy Balance program. The use of the information and analytical system will open up opportunities for optimizing the operation modes of boiler houses due to the calculation and prediction of heat losses in heating networks from power sources and optimal heat removal to subscribers. The implementation of the project - from software product development, testing to industrial commissioning - is planned for 2022-2024 years.
"Predictive analytics has already proven to be effective in different fields, we will apply this toolkit to thermal power engineering. Automation of the processes of calculating the generation and consumption of energy resources will allow planning these parameters for the future, taking into account temperature indicators, fuel consumption, water and electric energy during the production of thermal energy. So we minimize operating costs and reduce paper document flow, "- noted the general director of the State Unitary Enterprise "Fuel and Energy Complex St. Petersburg" Ivan Boltenkov. |
To implement the project, the company plans to attract a preferential loan in the amount of 171.5 million rubles for a period of 5 years under the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation."
As of January 10, 2022, the process of planning heat removal at fuel and energy sources is not automated, all information is entered manually in Excel and files with storage in MS Access. Scattered calculations of objects, duplication of some parameters on paper and absence of a unified system of technical accounting of energy resources reduce the efficiency of business processes.
The software of the Energy Balance system will be based on OLAP data processing technology. It is based on the preparation of summary information based on large data sets structured according to a multidimensional principle. In other words, these are mathematical models describing the physical essence of the process of costs, transfer and consumption of energy resources, as well as models of each technological unit (boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, pipelines). In addition, when developing the system, models for monitoring the performance of boilers and heat exchangers, heat removal, gas consumption at the boiler room, etc. will be taken into account. The program is planned to be synchronized with adjacent systems to quickly receive data from generation facilities, in particular, with the SCADA integrated control system centralization system, which collects and processes data about the monitoring facility in real time.[1]
