History

2022: Headspace Health bought Sayana

In early January 2022, Headspace Health acquired Sayana. The financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

The acquisition of the San Francisco-based company will expand its ability to provide personalized solutions to users to monitor their mental health, Headspace Health reported. This acquisition resulted from the merger of Headspace and Ginger in 2021 and the creation of Headspace Health, which is estimated at $3 billion. As a result of the merger, Ginger's therapeutic and coaching offerings were integrated with Headspace mindfulness and meditation services.

Headspace Health acquired Sayana

Headspace Health CEO Russell Glass noted that Sayana applications will continue to run for a period of time while Headspace Health integrates its core solutions into its work with Headspace and Ginger. Once integration is complete, the company will disable Sayana as a separate tool and transfer users to Headspace Health.

Sayana has created a unique user-centric experience, and when we think about the future of what we are trying to do, it fits perfectly into the vision of the Headspace Health world, which can support a full range of services, regardless of what mental health care the user needs, Glass explained. "One of the things we saw during the pandemic is how many people continue to need support, so we need to keep focusing on innovation. We need to be confident that we can automate part of the mental health continuum and provide personalized self-care content to people who need it, and that's why this acquisition is of interest to us.[1]
