2021: Launch Solution

In mid-January 2022, Visa introduced a cloud payment platform that allows you to turn almost any device into a POS terminal.

The platform, called Visa Acceptance Cloud (RAC), will allow acquirers, payment service providers, manufacturers of POS equipment and users of the Internet of Things (IoT) to transfer payment processing software from built-in to each hardware device to universally available to the cloud.

Adopting cloud computing is the future of payments, "said Mary Kay Bowman, senior vice president and global head of payments and platform products at Visa. - A POS terminal connected to the cloud allows sellers to accept payments from various devices quickly, easily and securely.

Already operating in six regions, RAC not only transforms almost any device into a cloud-connected payment terminal, but also provides seamless cloud-based software updates, reliable analytics and network services from Visa. Because the RAC operates in Visa data centers, it also offers advanced data protection capabilities.

On the one hand, the adoption of cloud computing helps attract more small sellers who want to offer digital payments. On the other hand, Visa Acceptance Cloud provides expanded shopping opportunities that will be crucial for the future of retail for enterprises of all shapes and sizes, "said Bowman. - The transition to the cloud offers opportunities for many innovations across the entire payment ecosystem. It's just the beginning.

According to Visa, active RAC pilots in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia are designed for various uses. So in Australia, the new solution is being tested by retail outlets and restaurants, and in Brazil by smart mirrors and public trains thanks to cooperation with fintech projects Bleu, Nobal Technologies.[1]
