2022: Term for assignment of 870 thousand rubles
On January 14, 2022, the Karasuk District Court of the Novosibirsk Region convicted Natalya Pogorelova, the former chief doctor of the Karasuk Central District Hospital, in the case of appropriating budget money from a medical institution. She was sentenced to a suspended sentence, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor.
From the materials of the criminal case it follows that the head physician stole more than 871 thousand rubles, which were supposed to go to the needs of the hospital. The court found that Pogorelova in 2016-2017, using her official position as the head of a medical institution, stole the funds of a budget institution entrusted to her for use for her intended purpose. Pogorelova was charged with abuse of office and appropriation of budget funds.
As a result, the court found Pogorelova guilty under Part 3 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (appropriation or embezzlement committed by a person using his official position) and under Part 1 of Article 226 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official powers that entailed a significant violation of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens or organizations or protected by law interests of society or the state).
Pogorelova was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison with a probation period of 2 years. The civil lawsuit of the GBUZ NSO "Karasuk Central District Hospital" in the amount of 871,837 rubles 81 kopecks was also satisfied. The property of the former head physician was arrested, the return of money will be made at the expense of this arrested property of the defendant. Natalya Pogorelova did not admit her guilt.
By January 20, 2022, the chief physician of the Karasuk Central District Hospital is Alexander Leader. Previously, he worked in the same medical institution as a surgeon and became a hero of media publications for saving human lives. In 2015, the Leader was awarded the Doctor of the Year award[1]
