On January 24, 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region announced the launch of a taxi driver fatigue monitoring system. The first to introduce it was Citimobil.
Two cameras installed in the car monitor the driver and the road. A computer vision system developed by VisionLabs tracks driver fatigue, seatbelt use, cabin smoking, phone conversations, and driving distractions. In addition, electronics allows you to analyze the driving manner of the driver and warn of dangerous approaches and maneuvers during the trip.
When a violation is detected, the system beeps. All recorded violations are recorded on video, which can then be analyzed additionally by the driver himself and the taxi park. Passengers do not fall into the field of view of the camera.
Taxi drivers will be able to use the solution as an additional tool to track their condition and build a balanced work schedule. According to the results of the project, the taxi park plans to analyze the most frequent violations committed by drivers, conduct work with them, and also encourage neat drivers.
